On 24-04-2005 The Nukes played against Al Ameen for the Bronze medal and won the game (and the medal!) easily by 20 runs! Man of the Match: Steve Aaron. Some great catching and fielding there Steve! And that was that! Another season drew to a close. The Winter 2005 season will probably start next week, so keep on coming back for more. We certainly will! The Nukes keep powering on! |

And it went, semi-final week has gone. And with it, any chance for any Nukes team to wear gold at the end of the season. In what can only be ddescribed as a sad turn of events, The Nukes and The Nukes II lost four games between them. On 19-04-2004 The Nukes II lost their first semi-final play-off to Blizzrds by 75 runs. Later that evening, they lost again to Starex by 12 runs and with that their chance paly for the bronze medal. Man of the Match for both games was Dugald Smith. On 20-04-2004 The Nukes lost their first semi-final play-off to Dirty 30's by 18 runs. Man of the Match was Philip le Roux. Directly afterwards, they played Henswan (who had the services of three provincial players!) and lost by 14 runs. Man of the Match was Gerhard van der Merwe. The Nukes will now play on Sunday afternoon at 17:00 against Al Ameen for the bronze medal. I feel sorry for Al Ameen already... |

This is it! Semi-final week. THE NUKES II finished third on the E5 log and are playing against Blizzards tonight at 18:30. When we have annihilated them, we will play at 20:50 for the gold medal. Should we however get a bilnd bat as an ump and happen to lose because of this, we will play for the bronze medal at the same time. GO NUKES II !!! THE NUKES finished second on the D2 log and are playing against Dirty 30's on 20-04-2005 at 20:50 for a place in the final. We have the ideal opportunity for some sweet revenge for last week's defeat! If we lose against this oldies club again for some inexplicable reason, we at least get a second bite at the cherry at 22:00. So lets ditch these dudes once and for all!!! GO NUKES !!! Just to get you focused, here are the names of the enemy again: Blizzards ......Dirty 30's Now go forth and destroy!!! |

The Nukes played against Dirty 30's on 14-04-2005 and sadly lost the game by 36 runs. Man of the Match: Pieter Viljoen (net 5 runs). This is probably the end of the round robin matches for the season. Next weekend will be Final's Weekend. The Nukes hope to have qualified second on the log. That will give us an immediate opportunity for revenge against Dirty 30', since they will finish on top. The Nukes II will most probably qualify third on the log, which means they have to win their first semi-final to have a chance to progress to the final. |

The Nukes II played against The Sopranos on 12-04-2005 and won by 15 runs. Man of the Match: Steve Aaron. (net 15 runs) Each skin added fairly equal to the score. There were however 20 extras conceded. The Nukes will play against Dirty 30's at 18:30 tonight. |

If you believed that we will withdraw from the league, think again April Fool! Never! The Nukes played against Panathanykos on 05-04-2005 and won convincingly by 67 runs, almost erasing the bad memories of last week. Man of the Match: Philip le Roux with season best bowling figures of 6/-9 and 16 runs. (net 25 runs) The Nukes II played against Tonkers at the same time and unfortunately lost by 32 runs. Man of the Match: Rob Bollen with 3/8 and 15 runs (net 7 runs) |

"The Nukes II" played against Starex on 29-03-2005 and unfortunately lost the game by 18 runs. Man of the Match: Dugald Smith "The Nukes" attetempted to play against "Who's your Daddy" on 30-03-2005 and sadly came off fourth best, losing the game by 68 runs. Man of the Match: Erik van der Linde. Due to our recent losses (they were huge for both teams), we have decided to rather withdraw from the leagues at this point in time and start over again in the new season (at the bowls club). Maybe things will go more our way. Watch this space... |
