The match started with Elmo's batting, they opened fast with a 1 st skin of 32 runs despite a great over from Sameer where he took 2 wickets and conceded only 2 runs. They continued with a 2 nd skin of 37 and a 3 rd of 27 leaving them on 96 and a skin left. In the last over though we limited them to 16 runs with another great over from Sameer taking 2 wickets and conceding no runs, as well as Frank taking runs 2 wickets for 3 runs, leaving them on 112. We opened strong with Sameer and Warren winning the 1 st skin with 33 runs, Warren getting 26 runs. Ryan and Turbo barely lost their skin but still got 35, Turbo getting 27 runs. Frank and Johan took us up to 88 giving Martin and Steve a target of 25 runs. They got this easily taking us to 122, winning us the game with 10 runs. Motley crew batted first and posted a poultry 51 total. The Explosives took 22 wickets in total with excellent fielding and bowling from everyone. Pick of the bowlers was… Turbo with 5 wickets for -4 runs! Conraad and Turbo opened the batting with 41 and then Ryan and Steve added 59 to take the total to 100 after 2 skins. Sameer and Charl moved the score onto 132 and Piet and Michael finished with 47 taking the Explosives total to 179. The explosives took full advantage of weak bowling and sloppy fielding to win all 4 skins. Highest overall contributor was Ryan with +24. Time to move up to a higher league. |
